Wild Ideas 2024: Celebrating the habitats we all call home

October 11, 2024

Triangle Land Conservancy’s annual Wild Ideas event returns on October 23 for a night at the North Carolina Botanical Garden! This year’s theme, Habitats: Our Home, celebrates and explores the diverse natural habitats found in the Triangle region of our state and how local conservation work is taking action to preserve and protect these spaces for both wildlife and human communities.

Wild Ideas is a unique setting where conservation experts, local organizations, and community members come together to share ideas and innovations to create a healthier and more vibrant region. Guests and presenters gather together to form connections and spark inspiration around working to safeguard our clean drinking water, protect natural habitats, support local farms and food, and connect people with nature.

A key highlight of Wild Ideas is the speaker portion, where a group of local experts present on the work they are doing to support the theme of the event. Hosted by TLC board member and local entrepreneur Lysandra Weber, this year, four speakers will share their work around protecting natural habitats in the Triangle:

  • Brandon Wheeler, Conservation Ecologist at the North Carolina Botanical Garden
  • Reema Garabadu,  Conservation Land Manager at Eno River Association
  • Dr. Clyde Sorenson, Professor of Entomology at NC State University
  • Chloe Ochocki, Conservation Planner at Triangle Land Conservancy

Following the presentations, attendees will get the opportunity to participate in the community expo and meet local organizations already making an impact! Urban Community AgriNomics, New Hope Bird Alliance, Raptor Insights, and Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail are some of the many organizations that will be sharing how they are taking action to support local habitats and how everyone can get involved. Throughout the expo, refreshments will be available thanks to TLC’s partnership with Vimala’s Curryblossum Cafe and Fullsteam Brewery.

Space is limited for this exciting evening, so don’t wait to get your FREE tickets. Click here to register for Wild Ideas – Habitats: Our Home! If event is full, add your name to the waitlist here.
