TLC's photo contest is back! We had some incredible submissions last year, and we're excited to kick off 2026 with an exciting new challenge and see our trails through your camera lenses.
We're switching up our contest categories this year to celebrate and represent the theme "Be a force for nature." Here are the sub categories:
- People and the Planet - People in nature
- Nature's Neighbors - Wildlife in their natural habitat
- Small, but Mighty - Insects or small plants (macrophotography encouraged!)
- Flowing Forces - Water
From the roaring rivers' edge at White Pines to the small yet special trail at Flower Hill, there are countless sights and adventures to seek out on TLC trails. Four winners (one from each category) will be selected and receive recognition and a TLC prize pack.
Your photos can be of anything - a beloved trail, a native plant, a wildlife sighting, or just the gorgeous natural landscape. However you choose to interpret the theme is up to you. No photography experience is required - if you love a photo you've taken and want to share, we want to see it!
Participants can submit up to five photos per category - you can enter photos for one category or several! Please submit your entries by Friday, February 27 at 11:59 PM.
Guidelines
- Photos MUST be taken at any of TLC's seven public nature preserves. Photos taken elsewhere will NOT count.
- Photographers must remain on trail when taking photos. Please make sure to stay on trail whenever you are visiting a TLC preserve and follow all posted preserve guidelines.
- Photographers are responsible for ensuring that they have the consent of any people featured in submitted photos (or the consent of the subject's parent/guardian, if under 18).
- Photos previously submitted to past TLC photo contests will not count.
Your submitted photos may pop up on TLC's social media channels and publications for years to come, with the appropriate photo credits.
How to submit your photos
Participants can use this Google Form to submit their photos to one or multiple of the four categories:
- People and the Planet - People in nature
- Nature's Neighbors - Wildlife in their natural habitat
- Small, but Mighty - Insects or small plants (macrophotography encouraged!)
- Flowing Forces - Water
Please be sure to name your files with your name, the location, and month/year taken.

Winner selection
The top three photos in each category will be selected by TLC staff and then will have the opportunity to be voted on by the public.
