First Saturday Birding at Brumley North @ Brumley North Parking Lot
Feb 4 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am

Come join us for our February First Saturday birding hike at our Brumley North Nature Preserve!

Did you know that Brumley North is the #2 Hotspot for birding in the state? Our Brumley Birding hike will led by co-members of both TLC and the New Hope Audubon Society. We will meander on an easy 1.5 mile hike over about 2 hours with many stops along the way. Please wear good walking shoes, bring a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them. We suggest that you leave your furry friends at home for this hike as they may scare away wildlife viewing opportunities. This is a free event, but preregistration is required.

Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.

The Great Backyard Bird Count is a yearly citizen science project that happens all over the world and this year it is from February 17th-20th. You can participate anywhere from your own backyard to one of our nature preserves! Use this training to learn the methods and then gain volunteer hours by participating in that count at on of our nature preserves!

Great Backyard Bird Count @ Anywhere
Feb 17 – Feb 20 all-day

Participate in one of the oldest citizen science projects at one of our nature preserves or in your own backyard! We will be hosting a few events for the weekend, but this event is just to put a hold on everyone’s calendar to let them know that the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is coming up! The GBBC is through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the Audubon Society and occurs every year in February. This year it is from February 17th-20th.

You can learn more about participating (it can be for as little as 15 minutes) and see past years final results at https://www.birdcount.org/

Keep checking back on the calendar as we post birding events for that weekend! And let us know if you know of any groups or birders that would like to lead a program on one of our preserves at [email protected]
