Join TLC staff for guided nature journaling at Williamson Nature Preserve!
Slow down and connect with nature with Senior Volunteer and Outreach Associate, Amaya Horner! Amaya will give a brief history of Williamson Nature Preserve and talk about the types of programs that this working farm and public preserve offers. Then, we will navigate Two Ponds Loop, making stops along the way to collect observations about the world around us using nature journaling methods curated by naturalist and educator, John Muir Laws.
Please bring your own journal and writing utensils, but we will have some extra materials on hand. Participants will receive a Quick Start Guide to Nature Journaling zine written by John Muir Laws and the Wild Wonder Foundation to take home! This will be a slow, 1.5 mile hike on uneven terrain. Bring a full water bottle and a mat or blanket to sit on for the still moments on trail. This event is free, but preregistration is required.

At our Williamson and Brumley South Nature Preserves, due to the multi-use trail systems, we close the trails to the public if there has been rain to try and prevent erosion and detrimental impact. Please note that this event falls under this category and will be cancelled if the trails are closed.
