Mindfulness Walk at Johnston Mill
Mindfulness Walk at Johnston Mill
October 3 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Free
Join us for a mindful walk at beautiful Johnston Mill Preserve!
This forest bathing style meditation does not require clearing your mind of thoughts, sitting motionless, or focusing on your breath. Certified mindfulness meditation teacher Barbara Shumannfang will guide a variety of meditations for you to try, ending with tips on how to apply mindfulness in your daily life. All are welcome- this hike is appropriate for beginning and experienced meditators alike.
Remember to bring water to drink, bug spray (there will be bugs, and we’ll be walking very slowly and stopping at times), and a towel/lightweight seat to sit on along the way. If the ground is damp, we will provide individual tarps for sitting. The trail is mostly flat and includes a couple of steps up and down from a boardwalk, as well as sections with tree roots. Questions? Contact Barbara at bshumannfang@gmail.com. This is a free event but preregistration is required.
