Join TLC in discovering the many plant and animal species of White Pines!
A bioblitz is a rapid inventory of the species in a given area in a short period of time. Come learn from TLC staff and local experts while helping record the rich biodiversity of White Pines Nature Preserve! Hikes will go out throughout the day focused on plants, insects, and aquatic animal species. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or new to species identification, come sharpen your skills or gain some new ones while recording as much White Pines flora and fauna as possible.
Each hike will start off with a quick iNaturalist tutorial and some information on the basics of plant and animal ID. Using the iNaturalist ID tool and the ID skills of Hike Leads & the group we’ll work together to explore and identify the many species that contribute to the rich biodiversity of White Pines Nature Preserve.
