What is my role at TLC? In my role as Environmental Education Associate, I help support and coordinate the Pathways Into Natural Sciences and Environments (PINES) program as well as TLC’s public educational programming and events.
Favorite TLC preserve? My favorite TLC preserve is Williamson. I’ve spent the most time there with the PINES students and have loved getting to know the land alongside them!
Meera joined TLC full-time in January 2025 after supporting PINES part-time for two years while finishing their degree. They graduated from N.C. State University with a degree in Science, Technology, and Society and minors in Plant Biology and Environmental Education. They have previously worked as an educator at the North Carolina Botanical Garden and Schoolhouse of Wonder and as a backpacking lead with Girls on Outdoor Adventures in Leadership and Science. Meera grew up close to the Haw River in Pittsboro, NC and loves to spend time near water with friends.
