What is your role at TLC? I serve as the Good Ground Manager for the Good Ground Initiative, TLC’s program aimed at using conservation to both slow the rapid loss of farm and forest lands to development and create equitable pathways to landownership.
Favorite TLC Preserve? My favorite preserve is White Pines because I enjoy the challenge of walking up the bluffs along the Schoolkids and Deep Bluffs trails. It is especially beautiful in the fall.
Kierra joined TLC in September 2021 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with majors in Spanish and Global Studies. While in school, she took classes centered around community agriculture, food security, and environmental justice, all of which instilled a passion for engaging with local producers of color. As the Good Ground Manager, Kierra supports the creation of opportunities for historically underserved communities to become successful stewards of land. Outside of work, she enjoys discovering new music, spending time with friends and family, serving in her local ministry, and staying active.
