What is your role at TLC? As the Annual Fund Manager, I focus on supporting TLC’s comprehensive individual giving program. I collaborate with the Advancement team and other staff to help TLC reach annual fundraising goals through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors through a variety of outreach methods. I’m very excited to make new connections and foster ongoing relationships with our members and donors and partnering with them to further advance TLC’s important mission.
Favorite TLC Preserve? Picking favorites is hard for me, so I am going with a three-way tie between Johnston Mill (lovely rolling water!), Brumley South (excellent mountain biking!), and Horton Grove (important history and so peaceful you can hear so many birds!).
Katie has a strong passion for our local parks, trail systems, and nature preserves – especially the positive impacts nature and outdoor activities can have on our mental health and community wellness. This passion, along with her 10 years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience, brought her to TLC in May 2022. Some of Katie’s absolute favorite things are hiking to waterfalls, snuggling with her Australian cattle dog Ginger, and caring for her extensive house plant collection. As an artist and art curator, Katie previously served as the Executive Director of the Durham Art Guild where she managed all aspects of the organization and supported visual artists across the Triangle.
