Ella is a third-year student at UNC-Chapel Hill and is majoring in environmental studies and minoring in geographic information science. Through her role in the education and outreach department, she has gained valuable insights into how public organizations, local communities and land conservation interact. Consequentially, it has deepened her understanding of the broader goals of environmental education – emphasizing the crucial role of communication and awareness in fostering a renewed connection to the natural world.
