IMG_0363Join Beekeeper Steve at a future TLC preserve in Wake County that is already getting a lot of buzz! Though Walnut Hill Nature Preserve will not open to the public for a couple of years, we are already working with partners to make the most out of this special property that houses both wild and cultivated lands and we want to share one of these projects with our members. Honey bees are responsible for 80% of the pollination of human food crops and at Walnut Hill the bees enjoy a bounty of native plants and nearby crops from which to forage. Learn what keeps a hive healthy and see what role the beekeeper plays in maintaining a colony as Steve demonstrates a hive check. After you’ve met the bees, sit down with Steve to get all your beekeeping questions answered, including how you too could bee-come a beekeeper!
*This event is for TLC members, if you are not a member you can become one here.
