Postponed! Due to the impending rains later this week, we have decided to postpone this event to next Saturday 11/19/22.

Calling all kids ages 7-12 (and their families!)

Come out to Horton Grove Nature preserve on Saturday November 12th to learn all about medicinal plants and how they transform over the Fall. You will learn about a variety of plants native to North Carolina and their historical medicinal uses. With the seasons changing, kids will also learn about how and why plants change to create the beautiful array of Autumn color. This hike will be about 1.5-2 miles long with many stops along the way.

Please remember to wear good walking shoes, and bring a full water bottle and some snacks for the trail. This is a free event, but preregistration is required.

Make sure to save your spot here!

If the event is full, please fill out the form at this link to be added to the waitlist.

Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.
