Join TLC for an eBird Citizen Science event at Horton Grove!
Sign up and participate in an actual bird count. One of TLC’s ongoing citizen science projects is collecting data on bird abundance via the eBird app by Cornell. Horton Grove is an excellent place to identify various birds from raptors to warblers. If you are new to using this app, we will go through an introduction about how to use eBird. Novice and expert birders are welcome! For more information, follow this link to learn more about eBird: https://ebird.org/home
Please register here at this link on our Volunteer Hub site. If you do not already have an account you may need to create one to register.
Please make sure to download the app to your device prior to the hike. Also be sure to wear appropriate footwear, bring plenty of water, and bring your binoculars!
Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.
