Beers From Here – A collaboration between local beverage producers and Triangle Land Conservancy to celebrate the lands behind local flavor. Each participant will lead exploratory foraging walks through nearby TLC nature preserves and produce a unique beverage inspired by and utilizing some ingredients collected during the walk.

On September 16th join Steel String Brewery of Carrboro as we explore the wild edibles of Irvin Nature Preserve. This 269 acre preserve is not open to the public but is home to a working farm where Transplanting Traditions grows a mix of Piedmont and Burmese vegetables. The land around the cultivated acres remains forested with many wild edibles to be found.

We are excited to partner with Piedmont Picnic Project who will help guide the walks and provide plenty of information of on plant identification and responsible, safe foraging practices**. If you are interested in learning more about foraging consider attending one of their regularly scheduled walks.

Each producer has agreed to donate a portion of their sales from their beverage directly to TLC to support their efforts to to manage and protect wild and working lands around the Triangle. We will host a ticketed banquet in the evening on Nov 11th at TLC’s Irvin Farm preserve in Chapel Hill where you can try each of these unique brews accompanied by food from local chefs. More information on the banquet coming soon!

**Please note, foraging is only permitted on TLC properties under special circumstances and supervision of TLC staff.

This event is free but space is limited so please register below in order to participate.
