Grand Trees of Chatham will have a Winter Tree ID Hike at White Pines Nature Preserve on Sunday, February 25 at 1:00 pm. Andy Upshaw and Phil Cox will lead the hike which will focus on identifying some of the beautiful trees and other natural features at White Pines. The hike is about 2 miles long and is moderately strenuous. Please no pets or children under 5 years. Please wear footwear and clothing appropriate for dirt trails and the cold.

In case of bad weather (rain, snow) the hike will be cancelled. If the hike is cancelled we will attempt to e-mail those who have signed up. Directions to White Pines Nature Preserve:
White Pines Nature Preserve Preserve is located just past the Rocky River heading South from Pittsboro on 15-501, first left on River Forks Rd after crossing the Rocky River. River Forks Rd is a circular Rd so one can go left or right after coming off 15-501. The preserve is at the end of a small gravel/dirt road that comes off River Forks Rd, there is a sign marking the preserve and there is parking at the end of the road. The address is 548 S Rocky River Rd, Sanford, NC.
