TLC parts ways with EarthShare NC

February 2, 2021

After more than 20 years, Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) has decided to part ways with EarthShare NC, a nonprofit helping North Carolinians support the environmental groups they value through workplace giving.

TLC has been extremely grateful for our partnership with EarthSharewho has helped us to connect with and steward many workplace donors and nonprofits with similar missions. However, as TLC continues to grow, it has become evident that we have outgrown EarthShare’s membership and need to allow space for other smaller environmental nonprofits to receive EarthShare’s invaluable help in growing their donor base. This means that we are no longer a workplace giving option with the North Carolina State Employees Combined Campaign, Greater North Carolina Combined Federal Campaign, EarthShare of NC, City of Durham, City of Raleigh, Duke University, Orange County, Town of Carrboro, Town of Chapel Hill, and Wake County.

While we recognize that giving through your workplace is convenient and offers other benefits to employees, receiving donations through third party administrators has meant as much as an eighteen-month delay in receiving donor gifts and putting them into action.  Varying campaign rules have also made it difficult for us to provide donors with timely acknowledgements and consistent, quality information about the impact they are making in our community.

TLC continues to be a giving option in all “direct pay” campaigns where a third-party administrator (such as United Way and EarthShare of NC) is not involved. We are also still eligible for all corporate matching gifts.

Please help spread the word that direct contributions to TLC are gladly accepted on our website (and monthly recurring gifts are an option). Your contributions will be promptly acknowledged and put to good work!
