Winter is a great time to do some bird-watching in North Carolina, as many northern species escape the cold by migrating to our forests and backyards. Join us as we learn about the feathered residents of our winter forests by playing bird-themed games, making bird treats to take home, and testing our bird-spotting skills with a stroll down “Birding Lane.”
This program is open to families ages 4 and up. Bird treats will be peanut-free; send us an email if you have other food allergies that may need to be taken into account. If you have binoculars feel free to bring them, but they are not required. Remember to dress for the weather and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
Get Wild! is Triangle Land Conservancy’s series of youth-oriented environmental education programs made possible with support from Duke Energy Foundation.
