What is your role at TLC? My job is to help our community learn, understand, and care about TLC’s work and our local natural spaces. I wear many hats in my role sharing the stories of our organization, including managing our social media accounts, writing for our blog, putting together e-newsletters, and assisting with print publications, graphic design, and other communications projects across our departments.
Favorite TLC Preserve? Johnston Mill! It’s the preserve most local to me and I just love sitting and listening to New Hope Creek each time I visit along Robin’s Trail.
Olivia joined TLC in September 2022 as a Communications Associate. Olivia comes to the Triangle from Williamsburg, VA, but credits her love for the outdoors to her childhood spent in the Pacific Northwest.
Her past experiences working with the Smithsonian Conservation Commons and Virginia Environmental Justice Summit have led her to pursue a career in environmental and conservation communications. She is passionate about finding creative ways to connect people to science, nature, and culture through storytelling. Olivia is a 2021 graduate of George Mason University with a B.A. in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and minors in Anthropology and GIS. In her free time, Olivia enjoys kayaking, reading, and exploring her local community.
