First Saturday Walk — Using Art to Connect with Nature

Due to weather, we’ve rescheduled this event for Feb. 1 at 10 am! Those who have registered will be receiving an email to have the first chance to sign up for the rescheduled event. Thank you!

TLC staff and volunteer hike leaders will guide you on an exploratory hike through Swift Creek Bluffs Nature Preserve! As we hike, we’ll take short 10-15 minute breaks to connect with nature through art. All experiences are welcome, and “art” can be photography, writing, painting, drawing, and more. Kids are encouraged to join, and we will share different methods of creating art with nature just for them!

We can provide crayons and paper for children. For those interested in capturing nature in other ways, please bring your supplies. If you don’t want to participate in an art project, feel free to sit and reflect at our stops!

The hike will be approximately 1 mile on mostly flat terrain. If you have any questions about the hike, please email Elicia at [email protected]g with the subject line “Art Hike.”

This is a free event, but pre-registration is required.
