Laughter Yoga was founded in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor in Mumbai, India. It is about bringing out our childlike playfulness and embraces the philosophy of “acting happiness.” Research also shows that both real and fake laughter influence happiness and provide health benefits! Laughter yoga thus provides a comfortable environment where it is ok to laugh for no reason, act silly, be childlike, and fully express ourselves. Laughter Yoga also combines Yogic deep breathing with laughter exercises to bring more oxygen to the body and brain, making us feel more energetic and healthy. Combine the benefits of laughter with the healing powers of nature when you try a 30 minute laughter yoga session outside at Brumley Forest Nature Preserve. Liza from HAHA Health and Happiness Align will lead groups in beginner laughter yoga at 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM and be available on site all day to answer questions.
