As part of celebrating Women’s History month, we have a very special hike planned! Come join Samantha Briley from Gear Up LLC on a backpacking how to where women of all ages will learn the basics of going backpacking. As we trek through the trails at Horton Grove Nature Preserve, we’ll be pulling gear right out of Sam’s backpack like food, clothes, and a tent. Be prepared to learn the Leave No Trace principles, staying hydrated, and women’s hygiene while on trail. There will be plenty of time for questions along the trail to make you feel comfortable and confident for your first outing.This will be a socially distant hike, with a max of 10 people. All participants will be required to wear a mask over mouth and nose the entire time. For this hike, please bring your mask, and a pack with water and snacks.
