Have you ever wanted to hang a clothesline? Set up a hammock? Tighten down your tent tarp? Secure a bear bag? If so, join TLC for an introduction to knot tying while enjoying a short hike at Brumley Nature Preserve. Participants will be introduced to five foundational knots that are useful for camping and backpacking. This will be a hands-on, experimental, collaborative excursion – a hike with occasional stops for knot exploration. TLC volunteer trail guide Lisa Croucher, herself a knot-tying novice, will introduce five knots and will demonstrate their practical application in an outdoor setting. Participants will receive a list of recommended resources for continuing their learning and practice independently.
This is a free event but preregistration is required. Save your spot at this link!
Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.
