Family Friendly Night Hike: Bats & Stars at Williamson Preserve

Join Triangle Land Conservancy for a Family Friendly Night Hike at the Sarah and Bailey Williamson Preserve! As dusk falls, we’ll set out along the Two Pond and Pine Warbler Trails to explore the preserve after dark and learn about one of nature’s most fascinating nocturnal creatures — bats.

Participants will discover fun facts about local bat species, their important role in our ecosystem, and ways we can help protect them. As we walk, we’ll keep an eye out (and an ear out) for bats in flight while experiencing the sights and sounds of the forest at night.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes

  • Flashlight or headlamp (red light preferred)

  • Insect repellent and water

This program is designed for families and nature enthusiasts of all ages. This is a free event, but preregistration is required.

If registration is full, please email Amaya Horner at [email protected] to be added to the waitlist.

Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.
