SUMMARY:Autumn Equinox Hike
DESCRIPTION:Welcome Autumn with TLC!\nJoin naturalist Julie Hall on a 2.5-mile nature investigation around Williamson Nature Preserve. Julie will lead the group along Two Ponds Loop and Pine Warbler Trail to teach you how to make observations about the nature around you. This family-friendly hike will end with an opportunity to view the sunset over the fields as the autumnal equinox approaches.\n\nRemember to bring a full bottle of water\, and a lawn chair or picnic blanket to watch sunset with. This is a free event\, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.\n\n\n\n\n\nIf registration is full\, please fill out the waitlist form here by September 20th at noon.

DESCRIPTION:Join TLC for a dragonfly journey at Nature Storytime!  \nLearn about our flying\, sparkling\, ferocious friend\, the dragonfly! This month’s story time will invite everyone to learn about the lifecycle and habitat of dragonflies with nature stories\, nature games\, and a short ramble down to the pond. Join us at Williamson Nature Preserve for this monthly story series where you can meet other families in your community and learn about nature. This month's stories are: Soar High\, Dragonfly! by Sheri Mabry Bestor and Eliza and the Dragonfly by Susie Caldwell Rinehart. This program is designed for kids age 3-7 and their grownups. SUMMARY:Poles and Plants
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an educational hike about plants and hiking poles!\nDuring this hike you’ll join TLC Trail Guide\, Nancy\, to learn how and when to set the length of your poles\, the most efficient way to grip your poles\, and how to decide what features you want in your hiking poles. We will have loaner poles for you to try thanks to Great Outdoor Provision Company and LEKI\, but if you have a pair already\, please bring them!\n\nAlong the way\, TLC Trail Guide\, Dale\, will point out local tree and plant species you will see throughout the preserve. This is a great hike to build on both your hiking pole and plant ID skills! This will be a moderate 2-3 mile hike over variable terrain\, stopping periodically for educational moments.  This is a free event\, but preregistration is required.\n\n \n\n\n\n\nIf registration for this event is full\, please fill out our waitlist form here\, by September 24th at noon. \n

SUMMARY:Meet Your Plant Neighbors
DESCRIPTION:Join TLC for an exploration of plants at Old Creedmoor Nature Preserve!\nWhich plants do we live amongst? What are their names? What are their stories? On this 1.4-mile hike\, we will celebrate Public Lands Day by meeting our plant neighbors at TLC's newest preserve\, Old Creedmoor. We'll amble along Lizard's Tail Loop identifying trees\, shrubs\, and herbs along the way. All levels of plant knowledge are welcome -- we are a community of learners and sharers!\n\nThis is a free event\, but preregistration is required. The group will return to the parking lot by sunset\, but please bring a flashlight or headlamp just in case visibility begins to lower at the end of the hike.\n\n \n \nIf registration is full\, please fill out the waitlist form here by September 24th at noon.
