SUMMARY:Saturday Birding at Brumley
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our Saturday birding hike at our Brumley North Nature Preserve!\nDid you know that Brumley North is the #2 Hotspot for birding in the state? Our Brumley Birding hike will be led by co-members of both TLC and the New Hope Bird Alliance. We will meander on an easy 1.5 mile hike over about 2 hours with many stops along the way. Please wear good walking shoes and layers\, bring a water bottle\, and binoculars if you have them. We suggest that you leave your furry friends at home for this hike as they may scare away wildlife viewing opportunities. This is a free event\, but preregistration is required.\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\nIf registration is full\, please fill out the waitlist form here by October 2nd at noon.

SUMMARY:Mindfulness Walk at Johnston Mill
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a mindful walk at beautiful Johnston Mill Preserve!\n \n\nThis forest bathing style meditation does not require clearing your mind of thoughts\, sitting motionless\, or focusing on your breath. Certified mindfulness meditation teacher Barbara Shumannfang will guide a variety of meditations for you to try\, ending with tips on how to apply mindfulness in your daily life. All are welcome- this hike is appropriate for beginning and experienced meditators alike.\n\nRemember to bring water to drink\, bug spray (there will be bugs\, and we’ll be walking very slowly and stopping at times)\, and a towel/lightweight seat to sit on along the way. If the ground is damp\, we will provide individual tarps for sitting. The trail is mostly flat and includes a couple of steps up and down from a boardwalk\, as well as sections with tree roots.
