Join Triangle Land Conservancy on a walking tour of an Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative (UNCWI) property! The Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative is a partnership of nonprofit organizations and local governments that seek to protect the lands most critical for ensuring the long-term health of drinking water supplies in the Upper Neuse River Basin.
During this tour, representatives from Triangle Land Conservancy, City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department, and Conservation Trust for North Carolina will explain how properties are selected for preservation through land acquisition and conservation easements, how they are acquired, and how they are maintained. At the end of 2016, Triangle Land Conservancy was able to purchase and permanently conserve the Liles Property with funding from the Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative, now the property will continue to naturally filter drinking water for Raleigh residents in perpetuity. In honor of Swift Creek Week, we invite the citizens of Raleigh to come out to Meet Your Watershed, tour the beautiful Liles Property with us, and learn how this land helps water quality!
Closed-toed shoes comfortable for walking are recommended for this outing, as are long sleeves and pants.
